Using a PIN is safer than signing
You may be aware of an Australian industry initiative where cardholders will need to use a Personal Identification Number (PIN) instead of signing for debit and credit card transactions. We have been advised that this change will take effect from 1 August 2014.
Using a PIN is safer than signing. There is only a one in 10,000 chance of someone guessing your PIN. Yet your signature is there for all to see (and copy).
If you are still using a signature to confirm your Unicredit Visa Debit Card transactions while shopping, we encourage you to visit us so we can set up a PIN on your card for you.

Unicredit is an independent, State based, customer owned credit society based on the principles of mutuality. Since our beginnings in 1964, we have grown into a strong niche market provider of financial products and services in Western Australia.
Unicredit offers a full range of banking products and services, including savings, investment and loan accounts, as well as insurance, travel, international currency and financial planning services – designed and delivered with all the traditional credit society principles of highly personalised service, fair fees, great rates and flexible products that are specially designed to meet the banking needs of Western Australians.
Unlike banks, credit unions aren’t publicly listed companies and so we don’t seek to maximise profits to pay external shareholders. Instead, we retain a modest profit to ensure our future and our member’s financial security then reinvest the remainder back into the society, allowing us to continue providing a strong and stable financial environment for our members as well as outstanding member service, better products, competitive rates and fairer fees.
