Q:

Who can apply for a Credit Union MasterCard?

A:

If you are an Australian resident, over 18 years old, earning $15,000 or more a year, and a Unicredit member, you can apply for a Credit Union MasterCard.

Q:

How do I apply for a Credit Union MasterCard?

A:

Click here to download an application form or you can collect an application form from your nearest Unicredit branch. Simply complete and mail the application to Card Services or return it to a branch.

Q:

Do I have to be a Unicredit member?

A:

Yes, to enjoy the benefits of a Credit Union MasterCard, you do need to be our member.

Q:

How long will my application take to process?

A:

While we will try and process your application as soon as possible you should allow up to 3 weeks for your application to be processed and for your new MasterCard and PIN to be posted to you.

Q:

What’s the difference between a Silver and a Gold Credit Union MasterCard?

A:

You have the choice of applying for a Silver card or Gold card (subject to the minimum income criteria of $15,000 p.a. for Silver and $35,000 p.a. for Gold cards). The Gold card includes all the standard features, plus extra benefits such as higher credit limits, access to BlueSky Rewards and free comprehensive travel insurance. See Key Features for more information.

Q:

How do I earn Rewards points?

A:

You earn one Rewards point for every dollar you spend using your Credit Union MasterCard, so use it to pay for everyday shopping, household bills and more to accumulate points faster. Cash advances and balance transfers are excluded. Purchases made by additional cardholders on your account also earn you Rewards points.

Q:

Do I have to pay to be part of the Rewards programme?

A:

No. There is no additional cost for the Rewards programme.

Q:

Can I redeem my Rewards points to pay for my annual fee?

A:

Yes. Currently 4,400 Rewards points are required to pay the annual fee on the Silver Credit Union MasterCard; 11,400 points are required to pay the annual fee on the Gold card with Standard Rewards and 11,900 points are required to pay the annual fee on the Gold card with BlueSky Rewards.

Q:

How do I redeem my points for rewards?

A:

Customers should contact the Rewards Service Centre to redeem their points for rewards. The Rewards Service Centre can be contacted by phone on 1300 136 551.

Q:

What’s the difference between Standard Rewards and BlueSky rewards?

A:

The standard Rewards programme offers a wide range of rewards including a great range of store vouchers, Take Flight, charity donations and much more. BlueSky Rewards offers all the rewards of the Standard programme, plus the option to redeem points for Qantas Frequent Flyer points, and a range of other premium rewards. The BlueSky Rewards programme is only available on Gold accounts.

Q:

Do BlueSky points automatically transfer to the Qantas Frequent Flyer programme?

A:

No, if you’d like to redeem BlueSky Rewards points for Qantas Frequent Flyer points you will need to contact the Rewards Service Centre to organise for the points to be transferred to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account. If you’re not already a Qantas Frequent Flyer member, you will need to join the programme before redeeming your BlueSky points for Qantas Frequent Flyer points. To join Qantas Frequent Flyer, you will need to contact Qantas directly. A joining fee applies (currently $82.50).

Q:

If I’m currently enrolled in Standard Rewards, can I transfer to BlueSky Rewards?

A:

Yes, if you are a Gold cardholder you may transfer from the Standard Rewards to BlueSky Rewards at any time. Upon transfer to the BlueSky Rewards programme, points are converted at a rate of two standard Rewards points to one BlueSky Reward point. For example, 1000 standard points equals 500 BlueSky points.

The higher annual card fee is charged on your next renewal date, and a pro-rata fee for the current year may apply.

Please note: Silver cardholders who wish to transfer to BlueSky Rewards must first request, and be approved, for a Gold card upgrade.

Q:

If I’m currently enrolled in BlueSky Rewards, can I transfer to Standard Rewards?

A:

Yes, you are able to transfer from BlueSky to Standard rewards at any time. Upon transfer, points are converted at the rate of one BlueSky Reward point to one standard Reward point.

Q:

How much does it cost to have a Credit Union MasterCard?

A:

An annual fee of $35 is payable for the Silver Credit Union MasterCard, which includes free automatic enrolment in the Standard Rewards programme.

An annual fee of $75 is payable for the Gold Credit Union MasterCard, which includes free automatic enrolment into Standard Rewards. A Gold Card with BlueSky Rewards carries an annual fee of $99.

Q:

How do I make payments to my Credit Union MasterCard?

A:

You can make payments using BPAY (via telephone banking or internet banking), over the counter at Australia Post outlets (a fee applies), by cheque or by Easi-Pay. With Easi-Pay, repayments are automatically transferred from your nominated credit union or bank account.

Q:

What's the minimum amount I can pay?

A:

$30 or 2% of the outstanding balance (whichever is the greater).

Q:

How often will I receive information on my account?

A:

A statement, which details your account balance, available credit, transactions and payment due, will be issued monthly.  In addition, all your account details are available at your fingertips by going to www.cardservicesdirect.com.au.
