Registering for Verified by Visa
What is Verified by Visa?
Verified by Visa is a service that lets you use a password and
Personal Assurance Message (PAM) with your Unicredit Visa card.
Your password is as easy to use as your PIN at an ATM - and it
means you're the only one who can use your Visa card to make purchases
over the internet from participating merchants. For added security,
your PAM confirms that you are connected to a legitimate website,
and that your card is being authenticated by Unicredit.
Can I register with my existing Unicredit Visa card or
do I need to apply for a new one?
You can register any Visa card to be protected by Verified by
Visa as long as your card issuer offers this service. Unicredit
offers this service to all our Visa cardholders.
How do I register my card?
- Contact Unicredit on (08) 9389 1011 or email enquiries@uncredit.com.au for your member registration number.
- Go to the register
now link with your registration details and Visa card in
front of you.
- Follow the instructions.
After I register, how long does it take for Verified
by Visa to start working?
Verified by Visa is available as soon as your registration is
confirmed.
Do I need any special equipment or software on my computer?
All you need is an internet connection and Internet Explorer,
Mozilla (Netscape, Firefox etc.) or AOL browser software version
4.0 or above. To find out if your browser is compatible, go the "Help" menu
on your browser's home page and select the "About" option.
It should tell you which version is installed on your computer.
Why is it necessary to have this security?
There have been an increased number of cases in recent years
of internet fraud that has created a need for both consumers, merchants
and financial institutions to develop better internet security
for online shopping.
Therefore Unicredit are offering a very secure service, with
no cost to our members, for use every time you shop on the internet
and to protect our members from becoming victims of fraud.
I have more than one card issued on my Visa card account.
How does Verified by Visa work for the additional cards?
Verified by Visa will still work for all the Visa cards on you
account - you simply need to register and create a password and
Personal Assurance Message (PAM) for each one.
Please note that once a credit union Visa account is registered with
Verified by Visa, all cardholders will need to register and create
their own password and PAM before shopping at participating online
stores.
Using Verified by Visa
How does Verified by Visa work?
Verified by Visa provides you with a password to protect your online
transactions, just like your PIN at an ATM. Here's how it works:
- Select the goods or services you want from a Verified by Visa
online store and proceed to the payment page
- Enter the payment details request including your credit union
Visa card number
- The online store connects with your credit union to check whether
your card is secured with Verified by Visa
- A Verified by Visa pop-up window will appear on your computer
screen showing your Personal Assurance Message
- You confirm your Personal Assurance Message, then enter your password.
Your credit union will then confirm your identity to the merchant
- Your payment is authorised and your order is placed. It's that
simple!
