We’re upgrading Uniteller from February 1, 2006

With the increasing prevalence of internet fraud, Unicredit is taking steps to protect its members by introducing new security features to the Uniteller online banking service from February 1, 2006.

Making your online access safer –

The new Uniteller service integrates the latest security technology to make your account safer from possible internet fraud, utilising:

  • a login crypto keypad
  • security tokens
  • optional password for transfers.

Adding more functions

Uniteller also features some new services, including:

  • the ability to link accounts from different memberships
  • switch between memberships
  • receive SMS alerts
  • send a text from your mobile for account balances and transaction details
  • allowing members to receive and pay bills online with BPAY View.

Keeping Uniteller easy to use

The new features will be integrated into Uniteller from February 1, 2005, however, Uniteller will keep its easy to navigate appearance and structure, ensuring you can continue to access your account information and perform transactions online with ease.

Security features at a glance

Login crypto keypad

Members will be required to enter their password using the crypto keypad, featuring an enhanced encryption function, which will appear on the login screen.

  • The crypto keypad is a secure keypad for password entry which uses an enhanced encryption function to prevent passwords being compromised by key loggers or HTTP request loggers.
  • Simply use your mouse to select the numerals and characters from the keypad to enter your password.
  • After entering each character, you will notice random movement of the keypad, which is an inbuilt security function designed to prevent cursor mapping.
  • Your password will remain the same, however you can elect to change your password at anytime by selecting the option under the ‘Personal’ menu.
  • Remember to keep your password secret! Do not write it down or tell anyone your password and use a password that is hard for others to guess.

Security tokens

An optional security feature that uses a randomly generated number that is entered as a second password.

  • Security tokens are randomly generated numbers that are used as an additional password.
  • Members simply register to receive a set of 10 passwords via SMS using the ‘Security Settings’ option from the ‘Personal’ menu.
  • After logging in to Uniteller using their normal account number and password, the member is then required to enter the next ‘token’ number.
  • Each token can only be used once, therefore, a different token is used at every login.

Pay Anyone

Pay Anyone is an optional feature that requires a password to be entered when adding internal and external transfer payees.

  • Pay Anyone gives members the option to register for a password when adding internal or external transfer payees.
  • When a password is registered, the member is required to enter the password to add any additional transfer payees.
  • The password is not required to be entered whenever a transfer is made to an exiting listed payee.
  • Note only the amount and reference can be changed when making a transfer to an existing payee. All new payee details require the member to enter a password.
  • Members must register with Unicredit to nominate for Pay Anyone and receive an initial password.
  • The allocated password must be changed by the member online before use (and subsequently at anytime) using the option under the ‘Personal’ menu.

BPAY

Members can pay bills using the BPAY service.

  • BPAY is a free service for Unicredit members to pay their bills, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Members need to simply look out for the BPAY logo and the reference number on their bill or statement.
  • Then they need to log on to Uniteller online banking, the telephone banking service or visit any Unicredit branch to make a transfer directly from their nominated account to pay the nominated amount.

BPAY View (NEW)

BPAY View allows a member to receive, view and pay their bills online.

  • Simply register online with Uniteller to receive online bills from the list of available billers, and receive email notification when the bill arrives.
  • Then simply click on the link to pay the bill via BPAY from your nominated account immediately or make a future-dated payment.

SMS Alerts (NEW)

Keep up to date on changes to your account by registering to receive alerts via SMS.

  • Members can register to receive an SMS when one (or more) of the following events occurs:
      •    - Payroll transaction is processed.
      •    - Cheques are cleared.
      •    - Term Deposit matures.
      •    - Uniteller transaction is performed.
      •    - Balance of a nominated account falls below a specified amount.
  • A charge of 25 cents applies to each text message sent, and is charged monthly.
  • Members will also be charged by their service provider for each message (as per sending a normal text).

SMS Enquiries (NEW)

Members can text Unicredit (when registered via Uniteller) to request account balances and transaction details.

  • Members can text Unicredit on 0428 768 439 (when registered via Uniteller) to request account balances and transaction details.
  • A charge of 25 cents applies to each text message sent, and is charged monthly.

Internal transfers

Members can set up immediate or future-dated transfers between accounts within a membership, or between nominated memberships (see linking accounts).

  • Internal transfers are free for members, although they count as part of the 10 free monthly transactions.
  • Members select from a drop down list which account they nominate to transfer ‘from’.
  • They also nominate the account within the membership to receive the funds.
  • Members can only transfer between accounts within a membership, unless they have instructed Unicredit to link accounts.

External transfers

Members can electronically transfer funds to another Unicredit membership or to an account at another financial institution.

  • Members need to enter the BSB, account name, account number, reference and amount to transfer funds to another financial institution.
  • The transfer is normally received by the nominated account the next business day.
  • Members can transfer the funds immediately or set up a future-dated payment.

Linking accounts (NEW)

Register with Unicredit to have your different memberships linked for easy online banking with Uniteller.

  • Nominate to link accounts with Unicredit, and (depending on the option selected) you can view account details of other memberships from the main balances page.
  • You can then select from the primary account or any of the other linked accounts when making internal, external or BPAY payments (where applicable).

Switching accounts (NEW)

Create a link from your membership to switch to another membership without having to log out and re-enter a different password.

  • Members are able to create links to other memberships while logged into their primary membership.
  • When linking memberships, the member is prompted to input the password related to that membership before the link becomes accepted.
  • Access to linked members is then provided via a ‘switch’ mechanism displayed on the main balances/transaction page.
  • Once a link is selected, the screen appears as if the member has logged in directly via that membership number.
  • The member may then ‘switch back’ to the member that they initially logged in as.
