With the increasing prevalence of internet fraud, Unicredit is taking steps to protect its members by introducing new security features to the Uniteller online banking service from February 1, 2006.
The new Uniteller service integrates the latest security technology to make your account safer from possible internet fraud, utilising:
- a login crypto keypad
- security tokens
- optional password for transfers.
Uniteller will retain its easy to use navigation, ensuring you can continue to access your account information and perform transactions online with ease.
Security features at a glance |
Login crypto keypad
Members will be required to enter their password using the crypto keypad, featuring an enhanced encryption function, which will appear on the login screen. |
- The crypto keypad is a secure keypad for password entry which uses an enhanced encryption function to prevent passwords being compromised by key loggers or HTTP request loggers.
- Simply use your mouse to select the numerals and characters from the keypad to enter your password.
- After entering each character, you will notice random movement of the keypad, which is an inbuilt security function designed to prevent cursor mapping.
- Your password will remain the same, however you can elect to change your password at anytime by selecting the option under the ‘Personal’ menu.
- Remember to keep your password secret! Do not write it down or tell anyone your password and use a password that is hard for others to guess.

Security tokens
An optional security feature that uses a randomly generated number that is entered as a second password. |
- Security tokens are randomly generated numbers that are used as an additional password.
- Members simply register to receive a set of 10 passwords via SMS using the ‘Security Settings’ option from the ‘Personal’ menu.
- After logging in to Uniteller using their normal account number and password, the member is then required to enter the next ‘token’ number.
- Each token can only be used once, therefore, a different token is used at every login.

Pay Anyone
Pay Anyone is an optional feature that requires a password to be entered when adding internal and external transfer payees. |
- Pay Anyone gives members the option to register for a password when adding internal or external transfer payees.
- When a password is registered, the member is required to enter the password to add any additional transfer payees.
- The password is not required to be entered whenever a transfer is made to an existing listed payee.
- Note only the amount and reference can be changed when making a transfer to an existing payee. All new payee details require the member to enter a password.
- Members must register with Unicredit to nominate for Pay Anyone and receive an initial password.
- The allocated password must be changed by the member online before use (and subsequently at anytime) using the option under the ‘Personal’ menu.
